damselfish | (no subject)

I've lost one of the baby rams.

I don't mean "I'm using a gentle euphemism to say that one died" I'm saying that one of the fish just up and disappeared.

I hadn't seen it since about noon yesterday, but figured it was hiding. Not that there's many places to hide in the tank: it's a 10-gallon with two filters, a kitschy pot, and about four fake plants.

Today I took everything out. All that was left in the tank: three rams, one platy, and the water. Three rams, not four.

So either the fourth ram died and was eaten completely by its voracious buddies, or it jumped out. But I can't find a fish outside the tank anywhere.

You were supposed to be safe in the little tank, babies! Gah.
