The people who put together my condo's master bath weren't terribly clever, despite it being standardized in all the units. The hole drilled for the sink faucet is set so far back that when you wash your hands your fingers bang against the basin if you wash your hands like I do (fingers straight, not cupped).

So I went looking for better faucets and came across the cutest faucet EVER. I promptly bought it and brought it back, and left it for the general home repair guy to fix (he's patching up holes in the walls, fixing molding, painting... this wasn't a big deal). He reported back to me that whoever had set up the sink had used some silly equipment and I needed a plumber to change my faucets.

...I'm a DIY person by and large, and am not averse to doing things myself, so I check it out, thinking, I'll just get some tools! Yeah. No. This was a poorly constructed sink. My grandmother thinks that I'm ridiculous, and there's no way we're hiring a plumber just for this.

I finally get around to picking up the faucet to return to the store. My grandfather's with me, and we go to the front desk so I can fill out a form for fire alarm inspections. I set the box down, and the concierge's eyes widen. "That is the best faucet I have ever seen! Are you installing that?" "Oh I can't. I need a plumber." "Get a plumber!"

My grandfather at this point is nodding. We'll just call the plumber who does the work in his house!

Well I won't turn that down.

Only problem is, this faucet is actually shorter than mine, but it should pour better. Keyword: should. I can't find any documentation anywhere of how well it works while running, and I'm leery of paying a stranger (rather than our repair guy) to put it in if I may have to change it out for something with a longer spout.

But... it's so cute! And all the other faucets with water flowing out like that (over the top? I know there's a word for it) are so... cold and modern looking. I don't need the kitschy country flair, but I want it to look warm, at least!
