Miranda and Jack are gayer than the day is long, so why are they both hetero romances?

I know that most people don't really know what a lesbian looks like, but I know an ice queen femme and a queer punk when I see 'em. Cause minus the genetic enhancements and truly unfortunate wardrobes* I've met them before.

I guess I could buy them as straight because people come in all stripes, but I find it highly unlikely that they don't sneak off into an empty alcove together.

Oh right, the game was written by dudes (exhibit A: the wardrobes) and probably no one with any extensive experience with sapphists.

Not that I have much interest in romancing Jack because her storyline is uber creepy with a manShep. So creepy that I know about it because it comes up fairly consistently in feminist gamer circles. But... not even Miranda? Bioware she's the dykiest dyke to ever dyke.

*I'm torn between "dayum girl, dat ass" and "omg put on some panties and pick that wedgie out of your butt, that's what panties were made for!" whenever I look at Miranda. Seriously it's like there is a black hole up her ass crack and it's sucking the universe in. Jack's outfit just makes me cringe and cling to my boobs in sympathy for the absolute chafing. Logically she should have some pasties under there and tape to keep the straps in place, but does Jack look like a pasties kind of gal to you? Yeah. No.
