Dec. 14th, 2012 09:30 amBack from Disney and I could post pictures if people are curious, but they're mostly of birds in places that birds shouldn't be, and myself because my grandfather took a bunch of pictures of me making silly faces.
The point of this post, though, is that I re-subbed to WoW. Here is how it went down:
Pocket Healer: What would you say if I got back into WoW?
Me: Have fun?
Pocket Healer: I just ask because my coworker (a tank) and I talk about how much we miss it and I kind of want to play again.
Me: Hmmmm. I will have to think about this.
So I ask a friend how mage is:
me: so... my pocket healer is missing wow because she talks about it with her tanky coworker. I am a mage. worth it to go back? (also is mage broken? I know it's changed)
mythrai: no way I love mages right now
me: awesome ty I guess I'm in
I popped in and was immediately pounced on by some friends I hadn't spoken to since quitting, and I was like "why you people are delightful holy crap."
Most amusingly is that I'm not even playing my mage, because he's Wyrmrest Accord Horde and has been kicked out of his guild, and my buddies are alliance on another server, and I really don't want to cough up the $50 to move him. I also can't play with Pocket Healer yet because she lost her authenticator and Blizz said she would have to wait two days (...uhm... why?) What's really funny is that I've been kicked from the guild but Pocket Healer hasn't despite both of us being inactive for roughly the same time, so I guess I am remembered for some sort of shenanigans while Pocket Healer is once again a beloved saint. I mean, she is pretty saintly so I don't hold it against her. Of the two of us, I am definitely the troublemaker.
That's gonna be real hilarious when we both get to playing.
So I've been dinking around on a panda monk and remembering why I really, really hate leveling. It is soooo boring and I hate Westfall like nobody's business. I've been told I can speed up leveling!
"Buy heirlooms."
"My only character who can buy heirlooms is the one I am too cheap to move, which would render 'buying heirlooms to level faster' totally moot."
Pandas also level fast so we'll see how that goes, because spending two months+ just getting to where I want to be is an unhappy prospect (how do people level so fast aaaargh). Fortunately I've been distracted by the shininess of pet battles, and wow people weren't kidding when they said it was fun. All the new critters don't help. OMG THERE ARE MINKS. I FUCKING LOVE MINKS. Which are not pets, but they're the ones I saw that made me go AWWWW YEAH WEASELS.
In some ways it feels like a step down from GW2 (nothing is pretty anymore!) but since I stopped playing GW2 at the beginning of November and feel no itch to go back for anything other than maybe admiring my pretty sword-and-gun wielding flower boy (srsly that combination is so ridiculously hot) I guess the graphics don't really make that big a deal. I'm having trouble adjusting to losing nodes to people, or spawns. What do you mean, I can't kill your target for credit too? That's how we cooperate!
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I didn't have to level so much, I would totally be fighting pets. It's just like Pokemon red/blue, back before Pokemon was too complicated for me and I was too old to learn all the rules.
